In today’s sexualized culture, every child is at risk, however with the right resources and solutions every concerned parent can be able to guide and protect their children from child pornography and its effects such as child molestation and the trauma and disturbance they go through at viewing it.

Child pornography refers to images or films depicting sexually explicit activities involving a child or children. The sources of such materials are normally adults that interact with children, however, in recent days the internet has been found to be one major source of child pornography.

A number of organizations are being formed and tool are being developed every now and then to provide resources and solutions to parents , guardians and care givers to help them learn how to protect children against child pornography.

Organizations such as the Association of sites advocating child protection (ASACP) are dedicated to eliminating child pornography from the internet through its reporting hotline and organizing online adult industry to combat the crime of child sexual abuse. The organization helps parents prevent children from viewing age inappropriate materials online.

The National Coalition for the protection of children and families is another organization which seeks to assist parents in making an informed decision when purchasing filtering, blocking or monitoring software for their family.

Anti child porn organization (ACPO) is another organization with a mission to eradicate child pornography from the internet and to educate the world and legal authorities what can be done about it.

While all these efforts are being put in place to supplement parents’ efforts, the greatest responsibility still remains with parents for the protection of the children. Do you know what your kids are watching? Do you really know and trust the people you entrust your children with?
